Dynastar - Legend 8000

Dynastar - Legend 8000

Tip: 120 Waist: 79 Tip: 103

Pros: Easy turn initiation and release. Super fun in bumps, great all mountain ski. Strong enough to meet expert demands, yet forgiving enough for a solid intermediate who wants to up his game.

Cons: may feel a little soft for heavier, stronger skiers.

Comments: Great 70/30 go-anywhere ski, rips on groomers, dances in bumps and trees.

Gold Medal Ski

Additional Review Provided by SKI Magazine: Some skis have the guts to go hard but don’t mind dialing back. The 8000 performs well no matter how much or how little energy you ski it with. It differs from last year’s version only in that its tip is 4 mm wider. It still gets two sheets of metal, and the extra tip width loves to dive into high-speed arcs. But its heart is in soft snow, where it aced the category with a fluid, fun-loving feel. "Truly easy to ski," said Hogen. "Not burly, yet secure on edge."

Best For:

Western cruising, bumps, crud.

Not For:

Precision hard-snow carving.

Good cruising ski but can feel a bit soft at high speeds. Great for everyday riding as it is comfortable on just about anything.

Wow...what a ride. This ski makes skiing fun again. Not only were the sales guys right that the width of the ski will help tremendously in the powder, the width actually makes it easier to carry my speed across those long cat walks in Vail. A great choice for someone like me who skis east and west.

Looking for a ski that is designed for Colorado's snow? What a ski that eats up bumps? Sure, this isn't your powder day ski but this ski flat rips!
